Eh... i dont quite agree.  The sealed bottle is sealed from bacteria and 'foreign shit'.  The risk isn't those things entering after production, but rather during production.  Water is not bottled in a sterile environment and so it is very likely for spores and bacteria to enter the water during the bottling process.  The only reason we generally dont worry about the expiration date is because bottled water has essentially no nutrients for microorganisms and so they either dont grow, or grow so slowly that it never becomes an issue.
